Daryl Lee Production Choreographer | I think I speak for all production cast when I say: Bump in week is EXHAUSTING. Flarians are all staying up that little bit later and taking even less breaks than before to balance lighting, blocking, assignments, sleeping, eating, and bathing. It's all good though because opening is pretty much tomorrow and we're SO EXCITED! Our second to last choreographer has been in Flare for a while. He has been known for his prowess in the latin styles but this year, he wants to stretch himself out a little more and give you a latin-lyrical combination. Please give a warm welcome to Daryl. Daryl is one of the few oldest (but not THE oldest) people in Flare Dance Ensemble. Joining in 2009, he has immersed himself in many genres thanks to Flare but found his calling outside of Flare in the style of Latin American in competitive Dancesport. Addicted to the beats and rhythm of the music he hopes to share his enjoyment of the technical and rhythmic elements of his style with the rest of Flare. This year though he is venturing into some new territory by trying to fuse his style of latin with the broader freedom of expression in the lyrical genre while trying to train and support newer dancers to his style in Flare. While his piece this year revolves a single theme, he hopes that it touches the hearts of many and does justice to one of the most talented voices of this generation. |
