| This Sunday, we have Mute Crew coming down to get groovy with us! This will be an awesome opportunity to learn from a professional dance teacher outside of Flare at a much cheaper price than you'd usually find, so make sure you don't miss out! If you've never heard of Mute Crew, we've got a solidly lengthy introduction for you below: Mute Crew – a family of friends sharing the same passions & dreams. They were inspired by the art of movement and hope to one day inspire other generations, both past, present and future. Formed in 2007 by director Nak Assa, Mute began as a small group of 5 high school friends who had a passion for hip-hop and the art of choreography. Over the years the crew grew and became more dedicated to improving their skills and versatility of styles. The current members of Mute Crew have been trained in a variety of styles including Urban, Popping, Locking, House, Krump, Freestyle and Breaking. Competitive in the Melbourne hip hop scene, Mute have competed in local competitions such as Raw Sounds (2007), Raw on the Dance Floor (2009, 2011, 2012), Victorian Hip Hop Crew Challenge (2009), Groove (2009), Youthamania (2011), Step off (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017), Fired Up (2013), UDO (2015) and various freestyle battles including Relink The Element, City Sessions and Let’s Funk. Their biggest achievement to date is taking out three consecutive first place finishes at Step Off (2015, 2016, 2017). In the future, they aim to compete in more national and international competitions. |
